Data Deletion

How to ask Word of Life to delete the information WOLMTX holds about you.

Effective 11 September 2026.

Ask for deletion

Anyone can ask here, with or without an account, and without signing in. Every request is recorded, reviewed by a member of Word of Life's staff and carried out through the site's own deletion process. You receive a reference and a status key so you can follow it.

If you have an account, the quickest way is to sign in first and ask from this page. Otherwise, fill in the form below.

Used only to confirm who you are and to find records. If you have an account, give the email address it uses.

Following without an account

If you followed Sunday Worship, the Miracle Room, the Forgiveness Room or Word of Life without an account, the only thing that connects those follows to you is a random key in this browser. You can erase them yourself, right now: every room this browser follows, the notifications sent to it, its browser-notification registration, and the key itself. Nothing needs to be verified and nobody needs to review it.

This browser does not appear to hold a follower key. If you followed rooms on another device or browser, open this page there.

Members can unfollow rooms or pause notifications at any time on the Follow page; deleting your account removes them all.

Who can ask

  • anyone, about information about themselves;
  • a parent or guardian, about the children's records and youth accounts they added; and
  • someone legally authorised to act for another person — for example under a power of attorney, or for someone who has died — who will be asked to show that authority.

How we confirm it is you

Deleting the wrong person's information cannot be undone, so nothing linked to a person is deleted until Word of Life is sure the request came from them.

  • Asked while signed in — already confirmed; signing in is the proof.
  • Asked on the form, and you can sign in — sign in, open the status page and enter your key. You can then confirm the request is about your account.
  • Asked on the form, and you cannot sign in — a member of staff confirms who you are before anything is deleted, for example in person at a Word of Life gathering. Staff check against what the church already holds, never only against what was typed into the form.
  • A youth account — the request is completed with the parent or guardian who created the account.

Word of Life will not ask you to send copies of identity documents through this site. The form cannot be used to find out whether someone has an account: it gives the same answer whatever is typed, and looks nothing up.

What is deleted

When a request about an account is carried out, these are deleted:

  • Your profile — see “Your account itself” below.
  • Following and notifications — rooms you followed, notifications sent to you, and your browser-notification registrations.
  • Invitations — invitation links you made and what came of them. Where you were invited by someone else, their count stays and no longer names you.
  • Discipleship and New Life — your New Life Journey, your request to be walked with, your milestones and the record of your welcome. If you walked with someone else, their connection is closed and no longer names you.
  • Spiritual Assessment and My Journey — your answers and the pastoral note about them.
  • Groups, classes and learning — memberships, enrollments, and the lessons, quizzes and activities you finished.
  • Prayer and praise — your Prayer & Praise Wall entries (taken down if published) and the prayers and amens you pressed.
  • Pastoral requests — appointments you booked and questions you asked the Answer Desk, with their answers.
  • Testimonies — taken down if published, and deleted.
  • Your own things — notes, saved verses, a Business Connect listing, event registrations and paired televisions.
  • Check-ins — the church keeps the count of people at a gathering, and the check-in no longer says who. Visitor check-ins staff recorded at the door under your email address are anonymized the same way, once staff have confirmed the address is yours.

What is kept, and why

Some records are not deleted because the church must keep them. They stay protected by the same access rules, and your status page tells you which kinds were kept.

  • Financial records — gifts and purchases, for accounting, contribution statements, audit and fraud prevention. See “Gifts and giving records” below.
  • Safeguarding records — safeguarding concerns you raised are never deleted, because a record that can be removed can be removed by the person it is about.
  • Records of serving — ministry teams, training, where you served and, for work with children and youth, whether a background check was cleared. The church must be able to show who served with children and young people.
  • Pastoral care records from Live Church — messages sent through Respond during a service are not linked to any account; they are kept as pastoral care records and are not deleted through this process. If your request is about one, say so — tick the box for it on the form — and the member of staff handling your request will see it, and your status page will show that pastoral records were kept.
  • Records the law requires — information the church must keep or report by law, including under a legal hold, a court order or a mandatory report of suspected abuse or neglect.
  • The record of your request — its reference, dates and what was done, so the church can show it did what was asked. Your name, contact details and anything you wrote with the request are cleared when it closes.
  • Backups — nightly backups are kept for 30 days, so deleted information remains in them for up to 30 days before it is gone for good. Backups are never used to restore information you asked us to delete, except to recover from a failure of the site itself.

Your account itself

If nothing the church must keep points at your account, the account is deleted entirely.

If something must be kept — a safeguarding record or a record of serving — the account is deactivated instead: it can never be signed in to again, its email address and password are removed, every session is ended, and only the display name remains, so that the kept records still say who they are about.

Gifts and giving records

  • Gift records — amount, date, fund and Square's payment reference — are kept as the church's financial records. They are separated from your account, so they no longer appear anywhere as yours.
  • If you might need a record of your gifts for your taxes, keep your Square receipts, and ask Word of Life for any written acknowledgment you need before your account is deleted — afterwards the church can no longer connect those gifts to you in WOLMTX.
  • Monthly giving must be stopped first. Deleting your account does not stop Square charging your card, so the church cancels the Square subscription before carrying out your request.
  • Square keeps its own records of payments it processed, under its own legal obligations and privacy notice. A gift made without an account is stored in WOLMTX with no name or email address.

Children and young people

  • Children's records and youth accounts are added by a parent or guardian, and the request to delete them comes from that parent or guardian.
  • When a deletion request includes children's records or youth accounts, a member of the church's safeguarding staff reviews it before anything is deleted. If there is no safeguarding reason to keep them, they are deleted with the guardian's account. If there is — a concern, an incident or a legal duty — they are kept and protected: the guardian's account is deactivated rather than deleted so every record stays properly connected, and any youth accounts the guardian created are deactivated with it.
  • A young person's own request is completed with the parent or guardian who created their account, and after the same safeguarding review.
  • Nothing about a child is ever published or searchable, and there is no way to look up or download a child's record from this site.

Facebook and Meta

WOLMTX does not use Facebook Login and does not store any Facebook user data. It has no Facebook profile, friends list, Facebook email address or Facebook user ID for anyone, so there is no Facebook data in WOLMTX to delete.

The site's only connection to Meta is that the church can publish posts to its own Facebook Page. Those posts contain the church's words and a link; they carry nothing about any visitor or member.

Deleting what you did on Facebook

Likes, comments and shares on the church's Facebook posts are held by Meta. You can remove them yourself on Facebook, and manage everything Meta holds about you in your Facebook settings. The church's Page administrators can also remove comments on its Page.

If WOLMTX ever adds a way to sign in with Facebook, this page will explain how that data is deleted before the feature is switched on.

After you ask

  • Your request is placed in a private queue in the church's Command Center. Only staff responsible for privacy requests can open it — and, for a request involving a child or a youth account, the church's safeguarding staff.
  • Requests are handled by a person, not automatically. The status page shows whether yours has been received, is being reviewed, has been completed, or was closed — and, if it was closed without deletion, why.
  • The deletion itself runs as one operation: either everything described here happens, or nothing does.
  • A request can be closed without deletion if the person asking cannot be confirmed, if nothing matching it is held, or if a legal or safeguarding duty requires the records to be kept. You are welcome to ask again.
